The rose study didn’t take as long as I though so time for another. quite loose this one and I always enjoy all the gubbins to do with boats.

Day 22 of 30 in 30 – Rose Value Study
A value study in preparation for tomorrow’s Paul Foxton workshop.
Day 21 of 30 in 30 – English Landscape
This is much more complicated than it looks. I had a great time with all that foreground texture but I’m in two minds as to whether I’m happy. Still not sure that the colors are muted enough. Time will tell.
Day 20 of 30 in 30 – Roses
I couldn’t decide what to paint today. I started on an eagle but the drawing wasn’t inspiring me so I switched to some roses. I wanted to paint pretty loosely but this didn’t quite work out. Part of the problem was the soft press paper which dries quite quickly and I kept getting hard edges. But the other part was me and I had to work quite hard to pull things together. The end result turned out well – another one in the bag!

Tower Hill Botanic Garden Watercolor
This is another local scene from the Tower Hill Botanic Garden which is well worth a visit although we always seem to be there just before or just after a big display of color. Loved this stone urn though. Day 19 of the 30 in 30.
Day 18 of 30 in 30 – Sunflowers
Day 18 today (although I have had a couple of breaks). Was looking forward to this one and wanted to keep it fairly loose. I think I just about did it justice. (Photo credit: pixabay.com)
