This was an exercise from a book where the picture was created only from flat washes. It’s a bit boring if you ask me (and no, not just because it’s another bloody barn).
Well. This was an exercise in perspective and I ended up learning an important lesson about windows. The ones on the right look much better than the ones on the left. I made the left hand side ones far too wide – forgot that perspective also alters windows as well as buildings.
This wasn’t intended to be a real painting. Just trying some new things.
